In the 1870’s, in Paris, were the Expositions which AWARDED several clock makers MEDALS OF HONORS Called   Medaill d’   Winners.    Once a clock was bestowed this honor, the maker had to put a special stamp on the movement and then they had to limit the quantity of this clock that that maker could put forth, thus increasing the value of these pieces—sometimes tremendously.    Such makers received this honor like Gustav Becker, JAPY Frers et Cie, S. Marti, Vincenti, as well as others…..
